We are on the way in organizing community dental programs with the participation of alumni members scattered throughout Tamilnadu and subsequently across our country.

  We are in the process of conducting CDE programs once in three months, stressing on the various recent advances and clinical aspects in dentistry with the main focus on the use of newer materials and instruments.

  The alumni had organized motivational interactive session by the best outgoing students from the institution to the exam-going BDS students.

  The alumni had actively taken part in fund raising for the tsunami victims.

  The alumni members had initiated and helped in organizing "Art of living" courses in our institution in the month of November, 2004.

  Our association have given cash prizes to the meritorious students for First year, Second year, Third year, Final year students and The Best outgoing dental graduate .

  The association had 10 life members and 20 annual members at the start and the association has grown rapidly since then, and it has 150 life members today. At present, Dr. R. Karthikeyan is the Secretary of this association. Dr. M.R. Muthusekar is our honorary advisor. Our executive committee has Dr. Murugesan, Dr. Vinaya Bhat, Dr. Shankari, Dr. Nizar ahmed, Dr. Mumtaz, Dr. Anuja, Dr. Sivaram, Dr. Gowri, Dr. Vinod Abraham, Dr. Narendar kumar, Dr. Roshini Ahuja, Dr. L. Omar Sunil, Dr. Subramanian.S, Dr. Kotteswari and Dr. I. Meignana Arumugham as its members.

  The Saveetha Dental College Old Student’s Association was started in 2001 with Dr. Murugesan as the President, Dr. Krishnan Barani as the Vice-president, Dr. M.S. Senthilkumar as the Secretary, Dr. S. Vidhyaprakash as the Treasurer and Dr. A.P. Magheshwar as the editor. The association is registered with the Registration of Societies, South Chennai .

  It is proposed to have an annual meet of the alumni members which includes a day of scientific deliberations and a day of family get-together. The executive committee has proposed to call the alumni members to participate in various national and international conferences. It is proposed to start an expert team from our alumni members, to manage various emergency medical situations like cardio-pulmonary support, basic life support measures, emergencies in dental practice, helping people in times of natural calamities with appropriate training from reputed institutions.

  The college provides facilities for receiving the biopsies from the alumni in the Department of Oral Pathology for subsequent reporting.
