About

Prof. Dr. R. Anita Rao the Director of  School of Law, Saveetha University was formerly a Visiting Faculty at the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA). Prior to joining NLUJAA, and served as Professor, School of Law, GITAM University, Visakhapatnam. She completed her LL.B., LL.M., and Ph.D from Andhra University and was a Gold Medalist. She also has a Diplomas in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management in 1985 from Bhavan’s Institute, and Intellectual Property Rights from WIPO, Geneva in 2003. 

She has more than twenty six years of experience in Teaching, Academic Administration and Research and has been guest faculty at the Premier Law Schools like NALSAR -Hyderabad, NLSIU – Bangalore, and Visiting Professor to XLRI, Jamshedpur. Prof. Rao served as principal to NBM Law College, affiliated to Andhra University and as Officer on Special Duty to the Chairman of GITAM Institutions. She has delivered lectures at various institutions, including the UGC sponsored programmes, specifically on Women and Justice, Intellectual Property Rights, and Medicine and Law. She is an advisor for the National Selection Committee. 

Prof. Dr. Anita Rao has vast experience in Curriculum Design in Law conducting many executive development programmes to industries on IPRs and women executive development programmes. She has authored a Book on “Intellectual Property Rights”published by EBC publications. She has also been engaged in consultancy work in Patent Process and Filing, with MMTC on International Contracts and has conducted diploma courses on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and on Entrepreneurship. 

Prof. Rao is a Member of the Advisory Committee in Centre for Women Studies, Andhra University; Indian Society for Health Laws and Ethics (ISHLE), New Delhi; Research Committee Member in Indian Social Science Congress; Indian Society of International Law, New Delhi; Board of Studies for Criminal Justice, Andhra University; Chairperson, Board of Studies of Law, Saveetha University, Chennai. 

Her areas of expertise are in International Law, International Trade Law, Corporate Laws and Intellectual Property rights. The current area of research is IPR’s, WTO related issues and Gender Issues.

Dr. Omana George began her career as an Advocate at District Court, Idduki, Kerala after completing her LL.M., in Maritime and Commercial Law from Cochin University of Science and Technology in 1982. She also obtained a Master’s Degree in English Language and Literature in 1969 from St. Thomas College, Kottayam District, Kerala. 

In 1997, she joined Central Law College, Salem as a Lecturer for 5 years and was subsequently promoted to the post of Principal. During her term as the Principal, she had organized several workshops, seminars and lectures by experts in the field. She was also the Chief Superintendent of Examination and conducted University Examinations for more than five years. She was promoted as the Director of Central Law College and discharged further administrative duties. She obtained her Ph.D in the year 2013 from Tamilnadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University. Her broad of area of research is Constitutional Law and Property Rights of Christian Women. For a brief period between 2011 and 2014, Dr. Omana George taught Maritime Law at India Maritime University teaching Maritime Law for LL.M students.  

In 2014, she joined Saveetha School of Law as the Principal. She is a Member of the Board of Studies at Cochin University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies and Indian Maritime University. She had attended a two day workshop on ‘Ship Arrest in India’ in February 2015 at Cochin University of Science and Technology. She acted as a Judge of the Moot Court Competition 2015 conducted by the National University of Advanced Legal Studies. She has published several articles in reputed journals on topics related to Christian Women’s Inheritance Rights, Law of Sea, Ship Arrest in India, etc. 

Dr. S. Ramuis Professor of Economics at Saveetha School of Law. He has earned his BA., MA., M.Phil and Ph.D (Economics) from the Madras University, B.Com and M.Com from the Madurai Kamaraj University and M.H.Ed and M.Ed degrees from the Annamalai University.

He has put in 34 years of teaching experience at various levels. He has been one of the authors for XI and XII Standard Economics Text Books of the Tamilnadu Text Book Corporation for 3 spells. He has also been one of the authors of English-English-Tamil Dictionary published by the Government of Tamilnadu through the Tamilnadu Text Book Corporation. He has also broadcast over the All India Radio for more than 18 times. 

He has translated and edited many books and articles on various topics. He was one of the editors cum translator of Eleventh Five Year Plan documents of the Tamilnadu State Planning Commission. He has conducted coaching classes for Civil Service (IAS) aspirants and also TNPSC Group I, II, III candidates for many teams. 

His area of expertise is Macro Economics and has an International Journal publication to his credit. His area of research is on Indian Economic Thought and Labour Welfare.

Prof. Dr. Nazreen Taj obtained her LL.B., LL.M., and Ph.D from Bangalore University, Karnataka. She was the first batch student of five years Law course of Bangalore University Law College. In the year 2005 she received her Doctorate Degree in the area of Company Law and her thesis was titled “The Director’s Duties and Responsibility – The Comparative study of India and England”.

Prior to joining Saveetha School of Law as Professor of Law, Prof. Taj had worked as Lecturer in Bangalore University from 1996 to 2006. She was the Principal of Babu Jagajivan Ram College, Bangalore and then Garden City Law College, Bangalore before moving to Al Weed Business School, Saudi Arabia where she worked for two years. At present she has 18 Years of teaching experience in Law.

She was appointed as a Chief-Custodial of LL.B, Valuation work from Bangalore University, and also as the Chief Coordinator for Re-valuation work. Dr. Nazreen Taj was also member of the Board of the Examination for scrutinizing the question papers of LL.B, for past 12 years.

She has published research articles in Bangalore Law Journal and in EDUVED Intra-Nation Journals of Interdisciplinary Research.

Mr. Rajkumar is a legal expert and Associate Professor in Law with Saveetha School of Law. He has received his LL.M in International Commercial Law from Robert Gordon University, UK. He has also completed one year PG Certificate in Oil & Gas Law from Robert Gordon University, UK. His PhD is from College of Legal Studies, University of Petroleum & Energy Studies, Dehradun. He has teaching experience both at UG and PG level. Before entering the academia, Dr. Rajkumar was a qualified lawyer and had an extensive practice in the area of Debt Recovery, Insurance, Insolvency, Intellectual property, and wide range of Corporate Matters. He has presented papers both at national and international forums. He has international publications to his credit.

The passion for law came true for Mr. B. Sivaprasad in Dr.Ambedkar Government Law College, Pondicherry from where he completed his B.A.L, (Bachelor of Academic Laws) LL.B. [Five year Course] in the year 2006. He completed his LL.M.,in the year 2009 with specialization in Business Law from one of the premier law institutions in India, The Tamilnadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University. Currently he is a Research Scholar doing his part- time Ph.D from Pondicherry University. Further he has completed his State Level Eligibility Test (SET) for Lectureship in Law in October 2012. 

Mr. B. Sivaprasad started his professional career in August 2010 as a Lecturer in Law at Central Law College, Salem and later in 2013 he joined Saveetha School of Law. He specializes in Environmental Law, Intellectual Property Rights, and Law of Contracts. As Assistant Professor of Law in Saveetha School of Law, he handles Constitutional Law and Media Law. 

Apart from academics, Mr. Sivaprasad had participated in numerous quiz competitions at national level and has won prizes. He was the convener for NSS Unit 1 as well as for The Youth Red Cross at Central Law College in Salem.

Mrs. Anju Mohan graduated in LL.M., in Intellectual Property Rights in the year 2005, from School of Indian Legal Thought, M.G.University, Kerala and her LL.B from S.D.M. Law College, Mangalore University in the year 2002. 

She started her teaching career as a Lecturer in Law in the year 2008 at the Central Law College, Salem. She has been teaching at Saveetha School of Law since 2013.

She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. Degree from the University of Madras. 

She has to her credit publication in reputed National Law Journals and presented papers in international and national seminars. 

Mrs. P. Suganya Devi is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Management, Saveetha School of Law. She holds a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science, M.B.A. and M.HRM. degrees. She also obtained a PGDED degree. Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D., from Madurai Kamaraj University. She has also completed a Personality Development course from NOAH.

Mrs. P. Suganya Devi has completed an interns program on “Quality of Work Life” at Ebm – Nadi International Private Limited, Chennai, a partnership progressing performance on “Analysis on Shipping Software” at Win Track Shipping Services, Chennai and a project on “A Study on the Relationship between the Job Profile and the Skills of the Employee in an Organization” at Formulated Polymers Limited, Chennai.

Mrs. P. Suganya Devi has presented & published papers in international & national journals on the topicsSupply Chain Management, Talent Management, Off-Season Sales Promotion,Conceptual Skills, Succession planning, Customer Satisfaction, Stress Management of Women working in BPO Sector to name a few. She has totally 8 publications to her credit. She has attended various national workshops & Conferences.

She joined Saveetha School of Law in 2013 and has a total of 3.5 years of teaching experience. 

Apart from academics, Mrs. P. Suganya Devi shows keen interest in organizing culturals and sports events in Saveetha School of Law. 

Mr. K. Ashok Kumar holds an M.Com and MBA degree from Nagarjuna University, Andhra Pradesh. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D in Management Studies from Saveetha School of Management, Saveetha University. Apart from these he also holds two Diploma Degrees namely PGDCA and PMIR. 

He joined Saveetha School of Law as Assistant Professor of Management Studies in the year 2013 and handles first and the second year BBA.,BL., (Hons.) classes. He has a total teaching experience of 7 years and 20 publications to his credit. His area of specialization includes Business Studies and Human Resource (Employee Job Satisfaction). Apart from academics, Mr. K. Ashok Kumar actively involves himself in NSS activities. 

Her pursuit of law began at Kerala Law Academy Law College, Thiruvananthapuram from where she completed B.A.L. (Bachelor of Academic Laws) LL.B. [Five year Course] and then her LL.M. (Master of Laws) degree with specialization in Corporate Laws and Governance including International Business from one of the premier law institutions in India, NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad.  Currently she is pursuing her Ph.D. from NALSAR University of Law. 
She started her professional career in 2009 as a Guest Lecturer in Law at Kerala Law Academy Law College, Thiruvananthapuram where she taught varied subjects such as Law of Arbitration and Conciliation and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Environmental Law, Jurisprudence and Law of Contracts. From 2012 to 2013 she had a short stint as Guest Lecturer in Law, teaching Law of Banking at the P.G. Department of T.N. Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai. In 2013, she conducted a program on “Laws Applicable to Co- operative Societies” at Natesan Institute of Cooperative Management, Chennai. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor of Law at Saveetha School of Law handling Law of Banking and Negotiable Instruments. 

An ardent mooter throughout her B.A.L. LLB., course, Mrs. Vasundhara Ravi has won and participated in various National Moot Court competitions both nationally and internationally. She represented India at the Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot held at Vienna, Austria.
She has presented and published papers at various National and International Conferences. She has co- authored an article “Position of Maintenance in Indian Law” for e- Newsletter published by Women Lawyer’s Interest Group (International Bar Association). Her area of research is on Aviation Law. 

Ms. Siddhi is currently working as Assistant Professor of Law in Saveetha School of Law. She completed her M.L .in Labour and Administrative Law in the year 2012, from The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambekdar Law University, Chennai and her B.L. from the same University. 
She began her teaching career in Saveetha School of Law in 2014. She has to her credit publication in reputed National Law Journals and presented papers in international and national seminars. Her areas of interest are Civil Procedure, Administrative and Labour Law. 
During her student days, she has obtained Scholarship in both UG and PG studies and ranked second in academics in her College for both UG and PG. 
She shows active interest in organizing and participating human rights awareness camps and participates in Teach India Campaign.

Dr. K.S. Shoba Jasmin graduated in B.A. (Economics) from Scott Christian College in Nagercoil district, Tamil Nadu and went on to pursue her M.A. (Economics) from S.T. Hindu College, Nagercoil. She completed her M.Phil and Ph.D from Madurai Kamaraj University, Tamil Nadu. Her Doctoral Research thesis was titled ‘An Economic Analysis of Role of Forests in Carbon Sequestration in Kanyakumari District, Tamilnadu’. She cleared her UGC-NET examination for Lecturership in December 2009.
Before joining Saveetha School of Law in March 2014, Dr. K.S. Shoba Jasmin worked as Lecturer in Economics in A.K.D. Dharma Raja Women’s College in Rajapalayam, Tamil Nadu. She has a total teaching experience of 1 year and 6 months.
She has a research experience of 1 year and a month on the title ‘Inclusiveness of Women Domestic Workers’. She has attended several conferences, seminars and workshops both nationally and internationally. She has published two papers in International Journals with high impact factor. Moreover, one of her paper is currently under review. 
Her area of research includes Environmental Economics and Energy Economics and her area of expertise is Micro Economics. 
She is a Gold Medalist at her Under-graduate level and won second rank in M.A. (Economics). She also won a Merit Scholarship during her P.G. level studies. 
Apart from academics, Dr. K. S. Shoba Jasmin is well versed in Verse Writing in Tamil.

Mr. Dhanasekar graduated in B.Sc from Dr. Ambedkar Government Arts and Science College affiliated to University of Madras and M.A. (Sociology, 2013) from University of Madras with Distinction. Currently, he is pursuing his Ph.D in University of Madras. 
He has also published articles in national journals and participated in various paper presentations and seminars. He has an experience of working in an International research project as a team lead initiated by Kyoto University, Japan, which was conducted in 11 south-Asian countries and his team was awarded the Best Team all over India. His area of research includes Sociology of Family and Marriage and his area of expertise are Classical and Contemporary Theories in Sociology, Sociology of Family and Urban Sociology.
He has been working as Assistant Professor of Sociology in Saveetha School of Law from 2013 handling Sociology for first year B.A.,B.L (Hons.) class. 
He was awarded the Best Content Developer Award in an NGO, Cholai – Action for Child Labour. 
Apart from academics, Mr. Dhanasekar shows keen interest in Documentary film making, photography and editing. 

Mr. Kannapan graduated in B.L. degree from The Central Law College, Salem, Tamilnadu and did his M.L. degree in Business Law from The Tamilnadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai in which he obtained 2nd rank. Currently, he is pursuing Ph.D (Part-Time) in Corporate Law at Pondicherry University. He has qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) on December 2012. 
He has published paper in internationally reputed Journal and has presented paper in national level seminar. His fields of specialization include Corporate Laws, Banking, Insurance and Securities Laws. 
Apart from academics, Mr. Kannapan is an ardent reader and shows interest in agriculture and music.

Ms. Radhuka is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Law at Saveetha School of Law, Chennai.  She teaches International Law, Contracts and Law of Equity. Her Journey in Law started in Coimbatore Law College where she pursued her Bachelor of Arts and Laws (BA, BL) degree from Coimbatore. She graduated with a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in Intellectual Property Laws from The Tamilnadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai.
Prior to her current assignment, she worked as a Legal Executive in Kochhar & Co, in different departments viz, Real-estate Litigation, Corporate litigation to name a few. Because of the enormous thirst over academics she pursued her career as Faculty in Law. 
She has presented papers on “Biotech Patents and Extinction of Species”, “Honor Killing and its impacts in Southern India”, and “Patenting life forms”. At present she is pursuing her research in “Need of effective legislation for Stem Cell therapy and research”. 
She shows keen interest in writing poetry and a voracious reader. 

Her pursuit for Law began at Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian Law College, Bangalore (under Bangalore University), and B.A.L (Bachelor of Academic Laws) LL.B. [Five year Course]. She completed her M.L (Master of Laws) with specialization in Transfer of Property from Madurai Law College (Tamilnadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University). She further pursued Diploma in Cyber Laws from Asian School of Cyber Laws and a Diploma in Merger and Acquisition from Indian Institute of Law. Currently, she is working as an Assistant Professor of Law at Saveetha School of Law from June 2014 and has participated at various seminars held in national level. Her area of expertise is Property Law. Apart from academics, Ms. B. Maheshwari shows interest in sports.

Mr. D. Rohan Kumar graduated in B.A. (History), M.A. (Applied History) and M.Phil (History) from one of the country’s most prestigious institution, Loyola College (Autonomous), Chennai with Distinction and Gold Medal ranking first in the college in all the three streams. He also has a Diploma in French from Research Academy for Cumulative Excellence (RACE), Loyola College. 
He joined Saveetha School of Law as Assistant Professor of History on 15th January 2013 and teaches two courses in History for the B.A., B.L. (Hons.) students namely History of India and Legal and Constitutional History of India and handles Legal and Constitutional History for B.B.A., B.L. (Hons.) students as well. 
His areas of research include Biography as History and he is interested in Legal Constitutional History of India and the World, History of USA, European History from 16th Century, Modern and Contemporary Political History of India. 
He has been on the Organizing Committee for hosting the first three National Congresses of Loyola Forum for Historical Research (LFHR), Loyola College and has held various leadership positions during his student days. 
Among the awards conferred on him, notable are Rajyapuraskar award conferred by His Excellency the Governor of Tamilnadu for his contribution as a Scout, Star of Loyola by Loyola College for his achievements during his UG course, Best Outgoing Student conferred by Loyola College to name a few.
He is a Life Member of South Indian History Congress and Loyola Forum for Historical Research. Apart from academics, Mr. D. Rohan Kumar shows keen interest in travelling and trekking, reading literature in English and is an orator and a debater. 

Ms. G. Jayasheela graduated in M.L. (Labour and Administrative Law). She joined Saveetha School of Law in 2014 as Assistant Professor of Law. She has presented papers in national seminars and her fields of expertise are Moot Court and Labour Law and her area of research is Contract Labours (Labour Law). 
She is an All India Moot Court Winner and was the Convenor of 3rd Jus Amicus National Moot Court Competition organized by Saveetha School of Law in April 2015.

Mr.Muthukumar is an Assistant Professor in Law with Saveetha School of Law. He has received his ML from Department of Legal Studies, University of Madras with a specialization in Constitutional Law and Legal Order. He has cleared NET examination thrice in Law. Before becoming an Assistant Professor in Saveetha School of Law, Mr.Muthukumar had two years legal experience and had appeared in various judicial forums. His area of interest are International Law, Constitutional Law and Human Rights etc.. He has presented papers both at national and international forums.

Ms.Sharon Ruby is an Assistant Professor in English with Saveetha School of Law. She has received her B.A., M.A., and MPhil in English Language and Literature from the well reputed Madras Christian College, Chennai. Her research in post graduation is in ‘Trauma Studies’. Her areas of interest are post colonial reading of Afro-American literature, Psycho traumatic study of Afghan American literature, Harlem Renaissance etc… During her college days she was an active student representative of English department in the college union society. She has a flair for poetry writing and has contributed to poetry reading forums.

Ms. Bhanu Priya is an alumni of Saveetha University and currently working as Assistant Professor of Management with Saveetha School of Law. She holds her degree in B.Sc computer science from Valliammal College for Women. In her post graduation she specialized in Marketing and Human Resources Management, in which she topped the college. To enhance her knowledge in the core areas of Human resource, she is also pursuing  B.Sc in Human Psychology from University of Madras, Chennai. Her teaching areas are Organizational Behaviour, Business Communication, and Stress Management. Her passion for teaching dates back to her school days where she started teaching for school children in Institutes. She has received award for best paper presentation in Cloud Computing in the workshop organized by IIT Kanpur.
