About

PHYSIOTHERAPY is a scientific approach to the prevention, diagnosis and therapeutic management of disorders of movement or optimization of function, to enhance the health and welfare of the Community from an individual or Population Perspective.

Physiotherapists work in a great variety of settings such as orthopedics, intensive care, pediatrics, mental illness, stroke recovery, occupational health, ergonomics, musculoskeletal treatment in hospitals and private practice, and care of the elderly.

Orthopedic physiotherapists are able to diagnose, treat and using the range of techniques outlined below help with prevention of pain/pathology.

Various therapeutic physical therapy modalities are available, including exercise prescription (strength, motor control, stretching and endurance), manual therapytechniques like joint mobilization / manipulation, soft tissue massage, and various forms of so-called “electro physical” (such as cryotherapy, heat therapy, iontophoresis and electrotherapy).

Physical therapy in Neuroscience is a challenging profession. This specialty provides a platform to understand the mysteries of neurology and reveal concrete facts in field of neurology. Neurosciences curriculum is framed in such a way that it recognizes the continuing growth of the field and strives to integrate the students with current research in Basic and Clinical Neurosciences with Physical Therapy.

Physical therapists work with patients in a variety of settings. They treat acute problems like asthma Cardiopulmonary, acute chest infections and trauma; they are involved in the preparation and recovery of patients from major surgery; they also treat a wide range of chronic cardiac and respiratory conditions like Pulmonary Disease  and post-myocardial infarction (MI). They work with all ages from premature babies to older adults at the end of their life. Physical therapists are pioneering new management techniques for non-organic respiratory problems like hyperventilation and other stress-related disorders as well as leading the development of cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation and non-invasive ventilation.

 

Sports Physiotherapy has assumed an increasingly important role in recent days, relatively a new specialty. Sport Physiotherapy department in our university aims to improve the training methods, teach about the mechanism of injuries in various sports their prevention and management. The subject area is diverse and its role in this field is inevitable, candidates selecting sports physiotherapy as their specialty are trained on-field by having tie-up with various sports organization.

Pediatrics is regarded as the Medical science (The science of right living) which enables an anticipated newborn to grow into a healthy adult, useful to the society. In other words, it is a study of the child from very conception through childhood, the specialty deals with excitingly dynamic process of continuous care of the growing child. Pediatric physical therapy started in this university to bridge the gap and provide treatment option by physical methods for children.

Obstetrics concerns itself with pregnancy, labor, delivery & the care of the mother after child birth. Gynecology is the study of disease associated with women which in effect means condition involving the female genital tract. The students specializing in urology and obstetrics physiotherapy explores the scientific, philosophical, and practical basis behind all aspects of clinical intervention in female reproductive and urinary tract with the associated structures along with the physiology of reproduction and pregnancy with a thorough account of the physiotherapists’ role.

The Principles and Practice of hand therapy are integral to all treatment of the hand and upper limb, and the specialty of hand therapy is now recognized worldwide. Development and education are supported by National networks of therapists and globally by the international federation of societies of hand therapists. This makes the exchange of knowledge and research easily available and specifically focused for our needs.
