Saveetha school of Law celebrated Law day on 25th and 26th Nov-2019,in this regard we happen to organize various events from 8 different departments as planned accordingly.On 25th Nov 2019 Ms.Narmada Sampath,Additional Advocate General,High court of Tamil nadu, graced the occasion and inaugurated the event.She addressed the gathering and shared about the importance of law from ancient time to present and variation in its practices,it was based on Rule of Law,Independence of judiciary .India with Multi communal,Multilingual,Multi Religion as a whole a democratic has one of the biggest continent in the world with 124 amendments so far, this witness that a lot changes have been made in Indian Constitution that are borrowed from various countries.She focused on historical importance of Magna Carter Principles and Manonidhi chozhan who are the pillars to spread the knowledge and importance of all law universally and proved that all are equal in eyes of law.
For rendering its service to the poor and needy, Saveetha Medical College&Hospitals was presented the Best Performance Award by the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu. Dr.C.Vijaya Baskar, the Minister for this department presented the award to Saveetha's representative on a recently held award ceremony in Chennai.
The talk of the students,the trend of saveetha it's not just a word but an emotion with great pride and vallour. We present "AEGON 2K19",the grand cultural fest of "Saveetha School Of Engineering",SIMATS.The fest was completely amazing with lot of surprises and fun.The fest includes sports,Off stage events and many on stage events. The chief guests for the event was Ritika Singh,Ashok Selvan,Megha Akash and Vaani bhojan.There were lot of on stage events like different type of dance forms(fusion,wester,folk,mime e.t.c.,).The judges for these events were Sunitha gogoi, Rinson Simon, Priyanka ruth, mime gopi, Nanda and Vj’s Rakesh and Akshaya from Sun music. There were lot of special perfermances from the students of SSE. Saveetha School Of Engineering(SSE) will balance well between the Academics and Extra-curicular activities. This event was well supported by Management of SSE,faculties and the students. This event was organised by students of SSE and event partner "DREAMBRIGHT INDIA”.
On 01.11.2019, Cooum River clean-up campaign was started in Chennai at 12 places. His Excellency Governor Banwarilal Purohit inaugurated near Napier Bridge along the Cooum River Bank.
The lead organization is the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) along with other personnels from CSIF, CRPF, Greater chennai corporation, IRCS, NCP and the student volunteers from Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS) Thandalam, Chennai.
More than 100 student volunteers from SIMATS participated and cleaned the cooum river bank near spar tank road, Chetpet. The Vice Chancellor - SIMATS and other faculties along with NDRF personnels participated in the event.

Saveetha Institute Of Medical and Technical Sciences (Formerly Known as Saveetha University) 14th Annual Convocation was held on Monday, 18th November 2019.The Venue was its very own M.M Convention Centre at the University Campus.
The campus was brimming with energy reflecting the sense of anticipation among the students wearing the ceremonial graduation regalia, waiting to receive their graduation certificates. 622eligible and meritorious students were conferred with the degrees, which includes 30Ph.D scholars, 100 MBAs, 13 ME/MTech, 262BE/BTech, 57 Bachelor of Physical Education and 160Law Graduates.
Dr.N.M.Veeriyan, Chancellor&Founder presided over the function, congratulated the young graduates and delivered the presidential address. In his presidential address he advised the students to rise to the occasion and make their parents and the college proud by achieving greater career prospects. He congratulated the Rank holders & the Graduands and attributed these achievements to the tireless efforts of the faculty and the disciplined graduands themselves.
Prof. Dr. Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor, welcomed the graduands and parents and shared the Growth Initiatives and Achievements of the Institution in his annual report. He advised the graduands to always aim high and dream deep. Live the dream, follow your heart and intuition.
The Chief Guest for the convocation was Ms. Karin Christina Maria Stoll, Hon'ble
Consul General of the Consulate of the Federal Republic of Germany, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, awarded the Degrees and delivered the convocation address. She also stated about collaborating Saveetha- a Multi Trans disciplinary University with Universities in Germany for student and faculty exchange programs focusing on research and academic excellence in various disciplines.
The Convocation began with a majestic and grand academic procession followed by National song sung by the Students of the Institute
Founder’s Day Of Saveetha Institute OF Medical and Technical Science was celebrated on 15/11/2019.
On this Occasion the Founder&Chancellor Dr.N.M.Veeraiyan honoured three distinguished personalities with life time achievement award & One young achiever award in recognition of their contribution in various fields and society at large.
Life time achievement award was given to 1)Dr.R.P.Shanmugam, pioneer in the field of Gastroenterology for his contribution in the field of Healthcare Profession.
2)Justice K. Gnanaprakasam, for his contribution in the field of Legal Profession and Service to the Society.

Mrs.Bharathi Baskar, Motivational speaker and a writer was the Chief Guest for the function and she addressed the Students of the university about strive for excellence in life.
As a Contribution to One Student One Tree initiative recommended by the UGC, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technial Sciences carried out a mega plantation drive at SIMATS Campus on 13/11/2019. Our honorable Chancellor Dr. N.M. Veeraiyan iniated the drive in the esteemed presence of Dr. Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor, SIMATS and Dr. Thiagrajan, Registrar, SIMATS with more than 2000 participants from constituent colleges. The whole event was organized by Mr. Valveemaraja, Dean Sports, SIMATS with the support of the college faculties.
600 varieties of fruit saplings like custard apple, Jack fruit, Jamun, Vilam pazham and 300 flowering trees like Cassia, Jacratha, Buetea monasperma, Ghoshana. The drive also includesi saplings of Timber wood and Mahogany(Malai vembu) on the whole accounting to 1200 trees creating a wide green campus.
Saveetha school Of Law was declared as the Winners of 1st AMITY NATIONAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION, 2019 organised by AMITY SCHOOL OF LAW, AMITY UNIVERSITY, CHHATTISGARH.
All over India 26 colleges participated. The team comprising SUBA YOGA. S, MADHU BALAAJI. S and RANGEELA. R.P represented Saveetha school Of Law And Qualified As one of the top 8 teams out of 26 teams in Prelims. And the team qualified quarterfinals in the Knock out basis against NLU Bhopal And In Semi finals they faced RGNLU Patiala in which they won in knock out round and qualified to Finals by securing 1st mark in semi finals out of 4 teams. In finals they faced Christ University which was adjudged by the sitting High court Judges of Chattisgarh and Patna and Additional advocate General of Patna and Chattisgarh. They secured 666 where the opponents scored 641 and won the 1st edition of Amity National Moot Court competition, 2019. The arguments in the final round was heard by the former Chief Justice of India Hon'ble Justice Dipak Misra and the valedictory ceremony was graced by his excellency and the team Also received cash award of Rs. 50,000 along with trophy and SCC subscription for 1 year.
