Saveetha College of Nursing hosts session on reemerging communicable diseases,its management,control &prevention
Department of Community Health Nursing organized, Guest lecture on Health awareness about Vector borne diseases and its prevention. The programme was combined with the IEC team members of Directorate of Public health and preventive medicine, Chennai. The main aim of this guest lecture programme is implementing health awareness programmes and focusing on improving the knowledge of health care has a significant effect on their ability to access affordable care and prevent illness.
The programme with welcome address by Dr.G.Bhuvaneshwri, Asso.Prof, SCON. Dr. K. Durairaj, MBBS, DPH, State Epidemiologist, gave a lecture on reemerging communicable diseases like Diphtheria, Dengue and Swine flu, its Management, control and preventive measures through power point presentation and videos. Followed by, Dr. M. Sekar, MVSC, PhD, State Veterinary consultant, gave health talk with videos about control and management of Rabies. Dr. S. Velmayil, MBBS, District Epidemiologist, and Mr Loganathan showed the live dengue larva to the students. Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr.S.Tamilselvi.
