Workshop on Water and waste water management strategies for sustainable development @ Saveetha School of Engineering
Saveetha School of Engineering, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences organized one day national workshop on “Water and waste water management strategies for sustainable development”. The event was conducted for the researchers, faculty and students to get exposed to recent advancements in water and waste water management strategies for sustainable development. It provided a platform to share knowledge, ideas and applications in the current scenario of water management. It provided a scope to researchers to meet and interact with eminent speakers and subject experts. The event could experience a total of More than 130 enthusiastic participants. The event was blissed to have the presence of the esteemed guests Dr. J Daniel Chellapa, Senior Scientist, Assistant Director, Department of Atomic energy, Indira Gandhi Centre for atomic research, Chennai and Dr. J.S. Sudarsan. Both the guests emphasized on the need for water conservation and its adverse effect on our surroundings and life. Dr. Chellapa emphasized more on the technologies of BARC and how it is benefiting the nation. He urged the students to have active research in this field of water management so that water can be saved for the future. The event was further made interesting by the informative and in-depth explanation of the water and waste water management by Dr. Sudarsan. The workshop was made more relatable to the participants by K.Subramaniyan, Area Business Manager- Water, Tintometer India Pvt. Ltd. Overall the national workshop was a great platform to understand, analyze and gather knowledge to work on world’s biggest issue i.e. water. The workshop emphasized in developing new ideas for the conservation of water for the existence of future generations.
